Emergent Tax Law is a law firm for business owners and their advisory team. With more than 12 years of experience, we understand that clients are best served when professionals come together to explore goals and solutions. Our role is to help you and your team navigate the complex and ever-changing Canadian tax rules in order to develop tax-efficient solutions and structures.
Our clients come from a variety of industries and professional practices. Whether your business is governed by an oversight board or you are laying the groundwork for an exciting new entrepreneurial venture, we are here to help.
The fishing industry is governed not only by complex fisheries regulations, but also by tax policies designed to promote and enhance the industry. We have the experience and knowledge to support fishers at all stages of their business - from entering the industry to planning the transition of their enterprise to the next-generation.
The "Butterfly Transaction" is a favourite at Emergent Tax Law. Whether you are separating business operations from real estate holdings, dividing corporate investments as part of a separation or divorce, or splitting corporate assets as part of an estate, our job is to make the process straightforward for you.
As a boutique law firm, our focus is limited. As tax professionals, our practice area is highly technical. We appreciate and value the relationships that clients have with their non-tax advisors. We are happy to work with other law firms to complete tax-transactions for their clients. Clients benefit from technical tax-advice and long-standing professional relationships.
Owning a business is exciting. We believe that your focus should be on your business. Our focus is on your tax and legal needs. Our job is to make sure you understand your legal structure, but also the practical implications of that structure. Whether you have questions about banking steps, tax account registrations, or Registry of Motor Vehicle updates, we want you to ask!
